Bio - Jimmy Georgiou

Jimmy Georgiou was born and raised in London and its surrounding areas in the United Kingdom. From a young age, he developed a passion for martial arts and began his journey into combat disciplines early in life. At just 14, he started training in Chinese boxing, which laid the foundation for his future progression. He soon expanded his skills, taking up Freestyle Karate, and by the age of 17, Jimmy began training in Wing Chun Kung Fu, a traditional close-combat martial art known for its speed and efficiency.

His martial arts journey didn't stop there. In the years that followed, Jimmy explored other systems such as Kali and Doce Pares, both Filipino martial arts focused on weaponry, coordination, and flow.

However, it wasn't until the age of 32 that Jimmy's martial arts path took a new direction. A close friend introduced him to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) at a newly established academy marking his first foray into a grappling-based martial art, quite different from the striking and weapons-focused styles he had trained in previously. This introduction opened a new chapter in his martial arts life.

Since then, Jimmy has been part of the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu / BJJ community for over a decade, training consistently over the years. His dedication and growth in the art culminated in earning his Blue Belt From Roger Gracie via Mill Hill RGA, a club run by the late Nick Brookes. Further on in his journey he achieved his purple belt under the guidance of Professor Pedro Sauer, a highly respected figure in the BJJ / Gracie Jiu-Jitsu community. Jimmy was tested for his rank in Virginia, USA, by Professor Sauer himself a moment of great pride and significance in his journey. More recently Jimmy met a 5th Degree Black Belt, Professor Neto Ventura originally from Brazil, Rio de Janeiro. A character full of life and lessons, after creating a friendship he decided to go under the guidance of Neto Ventura Team.

Teaching Experience

Jimmy has always taught and passed on any martial art skills learned.  Teaching Freestyle Karate at the age of 17 and later on in life teaching Wing Chun Kung Fu and now passing on any skills and knowledge held in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

As a qualified teacher the class structures are specifically created covering specific positions and attacks. Teaching dynamic movements specific for BJJ

Jimmy's Philosophy on teaching is simple, if you have a skill that someone else does not have, this is transferable to others, regardless of level.  He also goes onto say that repetition of a movement is key to make it a natural auto responsive, like being on auto pilot.
